from the editors: Power of Our
Thoughts …… WELCOME to the first issue of the Rose Garden Ezine. We’re very excited about this
quarterly monthly publication and collaboration of articles from some of our fellow
coaches offering articles on a chosen theme.
This issue explores the Power of Our Thoughts. What do you think? Do
our thoughts control our lives? Are our happiness and our success in life a
direct result of our thoughts? Well, we all have heard or read that
there is power and strength when it comes to thinking positive thoughts.
Articles, books and magazine are written and featured on several talk shows. The concepts of “You are what you
think”; “You are responsible for your thinking.”; “Change your thinking and
life will get better,” are not new. This edition presents several
viewpoints on the power of positive thinking.
Please let us know your thoughts, ideas and impression on this
intriguing topic. Be sure to either bookmark to revisit
often or register for automatic
notification when new
articles are added. If you like a certain author, please follow the link to
their own personal website. We would like to hear from you and
what’s on your mind. Please take
advantage of the Guestbook option for feedback. We will be
starting an advice column in the near future so if you have a question, feel
free to pass it along. Also, as a “thank you” for
subscribing, we’ll send you a free copy of “As Man Thinketh” by James Allan. Please enjoy. Happy Thoughts….

The
influence of our thoughts Do
our thoughts have an influence over our lives? What would happen if we each woke up every
morning and chose to focus only on the things we were grateful for about that
day? What impact would it have on your
life? We all know people who are eternal optimists who seem to be the
luckiest people we know and eternal pessimists who can’t catch a break. I have a friend from work who fits into the
latter category and thinks I am in the former. I was not born an optimist and
tried to explain to her how I got that way. Please click here
to read more………. “Keep your friends close, and your
enemies closer.” Sun-Tzu Chinese general & military strategist (~400
BC) Finding the Courage to Be, Do or Have Whatever You
Want. I have a very good friend. He has many aliases: Fear, Anxiety, Dread, etc. He is very colorful and pops up at the most
unsuspecting times. But I didn’t
always see him as a friend. For a long
time, I saw him as a monster, a big bully.
I saw him as very manipulative.
He was very skillful in keeping me away from the very thing that would
loosen his ties on me. Sun-Tzu (military genius 400 BC) was
very wise and said “keep your friends close and your enemies closer”. So, now I treat Mr. Fear as a very close
and dear friend. When I bump into him,
I know he is really showing me the way to something exciting. He is indicating something that I really,
really do want to do. . Please click here to read more………. Other articles by Laura Rose

by Richard Carlson Review
by Moira
Beaton In the book, subtitled Discover
lifelong happiness, Carlson, the author of Don’t Sweat the Small
Stuff, explains that happiness is not something that happens to us
because of our external circumstances. We can choose to be happy just
by controlling our state of mind. In this practical handbook, the
author tells us why negative thinking is a habit that can be broken and that
we have “choice points” - that split second when we can decide whether to be
happy or unhappy. Most importantly, he teaches us the art of
optimism. There are many books out there on
positive thinking and we may be forgiven for thinking that this is just
another self help book. What’s different about this one? Written in Carlson’s
easy to read style, he gives us tools for making ourselves happy, overcoming
depression and chronic pessimism. We need only choose to use them |
